The Short Film and Video Competition Section is both a program and a project, whish aims ar unearthing new women filmmakers and paying attention to film made by women from women\'s point of view. Two years after the 1st WFFIS, the number of films entered in Competition in 2nd WFFIS doubled from 33 to 68. Even more inspiring than the increase in the number of entrees, is the fact that the notion of viewing and understanding women\'s experiences and problems through the medium of film has become more widespread. The spectrum used to view women\'s lives has widened. In addition, the works of these female film makers can be come a milestone which enabled women to consider their lives as women in the 1990s, to understand their present lives, predict their future lives and wonder about the films of the upcoming millenium.
