This section showcases the films completed with the support of the Seoul International Women¡¯s Film Festival¡¯s creative programs, including Pitch & Catch, a production support program that discovers and supports feature film projects led by female creators, and Film X Gender Shorts, a short film production support competition co-organized by the Korea Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education and the SIWFF.
This year, the world premiere of Green Concrete, a feature documentary by director Lee Sungmin, will be presented. The film, which won the Documentary Ock-Rang Award in the documentary section of the 13th Pitch & Catch in 2022 and returned to the festival last year as a Work-in-Progress, reflects on the true coexistence of nature and humanity in an ever-changing city where buildings constantly disappear and new ones are constructed.
Additionally, two short films completed through the 6th Film X Gender Shorts production support program in 2024 will be unveiled for the first time: Daughter Doi by director Jang Hee Eun and Cicadas by director Kang Mina. Daughter Doi explores the relationship between a teenage daughter and her mother at a turning point in life, seeking understanding and growth across generations, while Cicadas delicately portrays the subtle emotions and growth experienced during adolescence, set against the backdrop of a school trip.
