SYNOPSIS

A verse from a sonnet written by King Vajiravudh overlaps the elusive scenes of Si Chang Island. The film explores the remnants of the landscape, accompanied by desirous narration.

 * Sonnet by King Vajiravudh

PROGRAM NOTE

Narrations reciting love poems and detailing the scenery of Si Chang Island are placed side by side. The poem of Vajiravudh, a long-past king of Thailand, refers to the beauty of love, which can be heard over an antiquated screen. Whether this is because it is found footage or the director modified the image to look this way cannot be known. The beautiful yet antiquated image and the lyricism of the love poem makes Si Chang Island a more romantic place. [HAHM Yeonsun, ma-te-ri-al]
