Film X Gender is a short film production support program sponsored by the Korean Institute for Gender Equality Promotion and Education and organized by SIWFF. Each year, it selects two short films that expose gender issues in everyday life with a creative perspective, supports production costs, and provides mentoring programs including scenario consulting and editing monitoring.
This year, Great Great Ancestor and The Cold Breath completed through mentoring by the Film X Gender expert advisory team, organized with film directors and producers. Great Great Ancestor is a work that untangles a woman's life into a fable through a unique cinematic expression. The Cold Breath sharply captures the moment of desires and violence that can happen in an intimate relationship during teenagers. The two selected films ended up with very different themes and styles. The movies will provide a gaze to reflect on the gender issues around us and go over the various potentials of feminist cinema.
