Program Note

The film is based on today's desperate reality and fatigue. People are working very hard, but find it hard to maintain the status quo with no room to prepare for tomorrow. Young people in the job market are swayed between a glimmer of hope and abject frustration. Carefully observing present conditions, the director depicts the drama and misfortunes of three characters in a tragedy/thriller form. June (YOON Chanyoung) is a high-school trainee at a credit card call center. He is worn out by tiring work, especially pressing people for overdue payment. All the insults and intimidation makes both callers and receivers embarrassed. Seyeon (KIM Hojung), a manager at the call center, feels gloomy about her contract worker status. Her daughter Mirae (JEONG Hadam) gets tired of jobseeking. As June leaves a will and disappears, the tragic nature in their lives come to surface. Seyeon receives mysterious text messages from June and comes closer to the bitter reality. Meanwhile, Mirae feels that there are no options in her life. In this world of doom and gloom, how can we help each other? What should we do? The film asks serious, urgent questions. [SON Sinae]
