Synopsis
On the day of her grandfather’s memorial ceremony, 7-year-old Bo-ra is going out to get some sprouts to help her busy mother. For the very first time she ventures into the outside world on her own. Will she come back safely with sprouts?

Program Note
All the relatives have gathered together on the day of their grandfather’s yearly memorial service, and the seven-year-old Bori goes on an
 errand for her mother to get some bean sprouts. Her trip to the market becomes a charming journey full of obstacles and adventures that delay
 Bori from finishing her task: a scary dog, tall staircase, children having fun in the playground, friendly neighborhood ladies, who are enjoying
 makkeolli, and calling Bori over. Yet magically, Bori is able to finish her chore in the end, and she pays respect to her grandfather. Sprout is a
 short film, but complete with an assiduous selection of the vignettes and actors’ vivid performances of the characters. [HWANG Miyojo]
