SYNOPSIS

This film is at once a home video and an album of family photographs. My family has been scattered far and wide for the past eight years. Although I miss my family very much, the deep impact of the temporal gap stops me from travelling to where they are. In the end, I decide to pay them a visit on the excusing of making a film.

¡®I¡¯ left the shelter when I became a film school student and decided to gather all my family members under the excuse of producing a
documentary film. Since ¡®I¡¯ haven¡¯t seen her father for a long time, the joyous reunion has a hint of awkwardness. ¡®I¡¯ ask my father to visit my
younger sibling together and he replied, ¡°For her, living in the shelter is better than growing up with us.¡± ¡®I¡¯ visit my sibling alone. The Close
Family shows a rare mature family relationship with ¡®closeness¡¯ in the distance—not overly devoted or collectivistic, not hostile or exclusive.
