SYNOPSIS

Unable to make progress with her ex-lesbian conversion path, a neurotic \"All American\" Jill tracks down her butch ex-girlfriend Jamie to prove to herself that she is no longer attracted to her. Strung along by guilt and desire, Jamie agrees to the preposterous plan of \"dating\" Jill so that Jill can close this chapter of her life. A mix of over-the-top comedy, sharp wit, and pathos, the movie explores the complicated attachment to one\'s sense of self in the face of love.

Heterosexual Jill is a follow-up to Butch Jamie, which was screened at the 10th IWFFIS. In Butch Jamie, Jill and Jamie meet on a
film set and fall in love. But Jill denies her sexual identity as a lesbian and in the end leaves Jamie, a butch lesbian. Four years since
then, Jill is still struggling to become a heterosexual. Then, at a meeting to treat her homosexuality, she hears that going back and
dating her ex-girlfriend to relive the horror of being in a homosexual relationship is the best way to become straight again. So she
goes back to Jamie, who has recently ended her relationship with her bisexual lover. Jamie agrees to Jill¡¯s ludicrous suggestion and
their relationship begins once again. Yet, sexual identity crisis is not only Jill¡¯s problem. Butch lesbian Jamie is also confused about
her desires, something she had not expected at all.

With campy and outrageous humor, Michelle EHLEN, who directed and starred in this film, approaches and attempts to describe
the complexity of sexual desires that is not fixed and also cannot be explained by one type of sexuality. Yet, it is not the exploration
into the postmodern sexuality but the game of love and the chemistry between the two attractive main characters that is the most
charming aspect of this film. [Jay SOHN
