SYNOPSIS
Tne cold winter night, Director Liu takes a camera and starts visiting her friend R, who is an FTM(female to male) transsexual. The director quietly listens and presents the story of ‘the way he is’ without intervention. Having always felt uncomfortable with the gender roles required by society and his own body, R begins receiving hormone therapy and feels strange yet excited by the changes that gradually take place in his body. Born in 1978. She graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Tunghai University and Graduate Institute of Sound and Image Studies in Documentary of Tainan National University of the Arts. She made Mother’s Sweet Heart (2003) and Dear DU (2004).
