SYNOPSIS


Experiencing puberty, Alice has a hard time adjusting to the physical changes. Gaining a grown-up woman¡¯s body means accepting the cruel reality of adults. To delay this transition, Alice refuses to eat. Her growing pain can be an alternative way of looking for a different world. (Jay SOHN)

Director

  • Sophie SCHOUKENSSophie SCHOUKENS

    She started her career as a stage actress in New York. During these four years in the Big Apple, she also attended intensive scriptwriting. On her return to Europe, she became a film producer and got involved in several award-winning international coproductions, such as Hey Stranger. She also wrote four of the films she produced. Alice or life in black and white is her first film as a director. In the meantime, she¡¯s finishing a screenplay for a feature film she plans to direct herself, Marieke, Marieke.
