SYNOPSIS

At 24, Syd(Radha Mitchell) has landed what seems to be a dream job at the prestigious photography magazine Frame, but despite a recent promotion and the long hours she works, she¡¯s still struck fetching coffee. Living with her long time boyfriend James(Gabriel Mann), Syd has reached a comfortable, if not particularly exciting, level of stability.
One night, Syd notices a leak in the ceiling and ventures upstairs to investigate. Her neighbor turns out to be the enchanting, elusive Lucy Berliner(Ally Sheedy), who opens the door to an uncharted world for Syd. A once-celebrated photographer, Lucy now lives with her drug-addicted German girlfriend, a former actress, and plays host to a group of hard-living friends. Before Syd¡¯s caught her breath, she is drawn into the center of Lucy¡¯s strangely captivating life. Syd persuades her bosses at Frame to commission a new series of photos from Lucy, and the two soon begin a project which promises to jump-start Syd¡¯s career while giving Lucy a second chance in the art world.
But as Syd and Lucy¡¯s collaboration draws them closer together, their relationship deepens, blurring the lines between passion and professionalism. Syd slowly discovers the darker truths of Lucy¡¯s life on the edge and is forced to confront the price of her hunger for recognition.
