SYNOPSIS
An early piece of director, Simon Sheen, Sisters¡¯ Garden presents the loves and lives of women living in Seoul during the 50s, who refuse to sacrifice their identities for the social good. With the sudden death of her father, Jung-Hee is forced to take care of her younger brother and her younger sister Myung-Hee. Myung-Hee falls in love with and marries young artist, Dong-Soo who had been promised to Jung-Hee. In order to maintain the family structure, Jung-Hee starts working as the madame of a high class salon. This career move drives away the med-student who had been infatuated with her, and she decides to marry her father¡¯s friend. Actress Theresa Sheen presents a strong female character who attempts new adventures in new social spaces to earn a living. Nam Gung Won as the still-to-ripen artist, Choi Ji-Hee as the bold and outspoken women who doesn¡¯t demand sacrifice from both herself and her sister, and Kim Seung-Ho as the middle-aged gentleman who yearns after Myung-Hee but hesitates to reveal his desire, all recall the past where the old and the new meet.
