Program Note

Parents usually don't ask their children's opinions when deciding household's future. When it happens, children who need a house and don't want it to change feel fear. The young girls in the film are like that. From their young perspectives, two households are in a critical condition - a home with parents in conflict, and a home with absent parents. 12-year-old girl Hana (KIM Nayeon) sees her parents arguing all the time. They seem to fight about the same issue. In the end, they argue about whether to keep the marriage and the family. It appears that the house is the cause of all conflicts. Hana struggles alone to make her family happy again. Meanwhile, Yoomi (KIM Sia) and Yoojin (JOO Yerim), ten and seven years old, stay home during the summer vacation while their parents go out of town for work. The three girls become friends and share meals, having a good time during the summer days. Hana is envious of the two sisters. However, they have moved a lot due to financial challenges, and another crisis awaits them. Considering the complicated physical and conceptual elements that constitute a house, the film stays close to the girls who feel anxious but draw courage. The brave girls work hard to defend their homes and never give up. [SON Sinae]
