SYNOPSIS

SynopsisMia and Frida, both in their thirties, meet each other for the first time at their parents¡¯ engagement party. Mia¡¯s father Lasse is about to get married to Frida¡¯s mother Elizabeth, which will make Mia and Frida stepsisters. Lasse¡¯s daughter Mia visited her father with her boyfriend Tim. As Mia and Frida get to know one another, strong emotions begin to stir between them. Their relationship will turn everything upside down for everyone close to them with dramatic consequences.

Program NoteMia¡¯s father, Lasse, gets married to Frida¡¯s mother, Elizabeth, which suddenly makes Mia and Frida stepsisters. Though they quarrel with each other at first, Mia develops romantic feelings for Frida. However, Mia is about to get married to her boyfriend of 7 years, and Frida is in a relationship with a new girlfriend after experiencing a painful breakup. How will their family members react when Mia unexpectedly comes out?
Alexandra-THERESE KEINING¡¯s With Every Heartbeat from Sweden appears to be a compilation of the lesbian romance film genre. Perhaps more experienced viewers will recall the storylines of such familiar titles as Imagine Me and You and When Night Is Falling.
She instead of turning her film into a familiar campaign-like narrative, emphasizes the burden of reality. What is important in this film is not the process of the customary coming-out, but the moral dilemma and pain that ordinary people must experience when they encounter new love. In other words, the story is fundamentally about people, regardless of their sexuality. [LEE Young-soo/Djuna]
