Liat GLICK
Asian Premiere
Lia is a 47-year-old single woman who has a symbiotic relationship with her mother. The nearing death of Natasha, her beloved old dog, causes Lia to become anxious about her future life without Natasha and without any children of her own.
Can we take in death and pain? How can we endure the loss of a loved one? The film doesn't accelerate or suppress emotions. Instead, just quietly looking for an answer to this question. Because of that, we don't get fixated on emotions but focus on Lia's loss. Or, more precisely, we prepare farewells with her and accept the loss.
The dynamic of life and the stillness of death are not separable. We get closer to farewell every day, and we might feel painful and lonely, but we will go through lively lives by dancing, sunbathing, and growing plants. [AHN Daseul]
