KWON Yeha
A-jung learns about her mother Kyung-sook's terminal stage of cancer. The dying mother proposes a celebration of life ceremony to her daughter. They organize a happy funeral together. People enjoy Kyung-sook's favorite food, attire, and songs during the ceremony. After her mother's passing, A-jung finds a small box.
How would you feel when you find out that your mother will not live much longer? You will be scared and probably want to avoid reality. Eventually, you will go through your own process of accepting the breakup. Differentiation is a film that lets go of the person solely through memories of one¡¯s life and, at the same time, carefully traces the tomorrow of ¡°I¡± who will be left alone. As the faces of the person leaving the world and the person who finally understands the feeling of love impressively intersect, the film leaves a great inspiration. [Programmer SON Sinae]
