A “muse” often refers to a source of inspiration for an artist. Women have been confined to the frame of muse and consumed as some object rather than an independent being. The protagonist of the film, Yoon-young, an aspiring writer, also considers herself useless. She feels strange for Soojin, who believes Yoon-young is special. The movie breaks the conventional idea of a muse by portraying a woman struggling to become an artist rather than remaining just a muse. [KIM Jung-eun ]
