Pam VIRADA
Asian Premiere
Ghost stories relate to animism, spirits, and unexplained phenomena, but they expand with the transmission of everyday emotions and memories. Pam Virada, born in Thailand, explores the senses of the Chinese diaspora in connection with spectrology. The footage from the Chinese silent film Romance of a Fruit Peddler (1922) is juxtaposed with photos, graphic images, and animated drawings against the backdrop of a moving landscape and alongside stories that blend local experiences into a poetic patchwork.
