fiction / caregiver / family / funeral
Caring labor, one of the most gendered jobs, has uncertain boundaries of time and wage since it involves work that cannot separate emotion and labor. Protagonist Shally has to do care work consistently, such as working in place of her mum and working instead of her family who do not appear at a funeral. Shally seems to give up in the face of a complicated reality that she can¡¯t run away from the reality she faces. Through her face, the question of what is needed in the human world remains.
