Synopsis 

Born in the spring of 1982, Jiyoung lives as someone's daughter, wife, colleague, and mother in 2019. At times, she feels locked in and suffocated. Her husband Daehyun, her adorable daughter, and her family, whom she can't meet very often, are the strength that keeps her going. However one day, she suddenly begins talking as if she's someone else. Her husband is afraid of mentioning it for fear of hurting her. She just says OK and smiles at him.

Jiyoung (JUNG Yumi) is an ordinary housewife who quit her job after marriage and lives with her kind husband Daehyun (GONG Yoo) and a daughter. On the surface, her family looks fine. However, Jiyoung, quiet and reserved, has been distressed by the inconsiderate in-laws and her parents biased love toward her brother. Suddenly, she starts showing bizarre symptoms of being possessed and brings up difficult subjects deep from within her own thoughts. Based on the bestseller novel by CHO Namjoo, the film tries to keep a distance from the novel's fame and calmly observes Jiyoung's life. She raises her child, assists her husband, and works hard at every family event. In return, she is humiliated by being called a "mom-chung" or "mom-worm" who exploits her husband's hard-earned money. Rather than instigating the audience through anecdotes, the director guides the audience to understand and identify with her. A hand-held camera follows her and stops at some point, watching her back in a consoling way. Such a warm perspective relieves the heavy burden that the original novel had to carry after raising a social issue. Actress JUNG conveys an impressive performance, with a strong voice. [WOO Hyekyung]
