SYNOPSIS
An entire family is involved in love affairs. Wife Hojung isn’t satisfied with her husband, but enjoys time with her lover. Husband Youngjak regularly makes love with his lover, and sleeps with his wife when he must. Mother-in-law Byunghan’s passion is rekindled at the age of 60. The father-in-law is taken ill and can never have sex again. Before having affairs, they were bored but once they started in earnest, the family becomes brutally honest and even shameless.

With his debut film Girls’ Night Out, IM raised the provocative issues of women’s desire and sexual drive. His next film Tears was a criticism against the social mainstream through the lives of wayward teens. IM has established his unique cinematic world by interrogating cultural norms. As he was so certain that his third film would be very controversial, A Good Lawyer’s Wife takes the illusion of sex, pretense and lust existed in a family. The film is quite relatable but somewhat uncomfortable, as IM uses his prowess to examine the story of a family’s brutal reality and tragic end.
