SYNOPSIS
Dorien is always busy. Her days are packed with things to do as a wife, mom, veterinarian, and daughter. On this particular day she goes to the hospital, where her doctor informs her of a lump on her left breast and suggests a biopsy. She wants to tell her husband—or anyone really—about it but she just doesn¡¯t get the chance as everyone is occupied with their own problems. Her ever-quarreling parents are on the verge of a divorce, her husband might be having an affair, and her children depend on her completely. As such she occasionally can¡¯t finish her work, but Dorien doesn¡¯t collapse nor does she weep. Yet she does get to tell a random person how she feels at a random moment. The film wonderfully expresses Dorien¡¯s state of mind, as every time things get hard fun music plays and the camera captures Dorien mischieviously rolling her eyes. No matter how big the problem is, and even if it seems like her life is going to crumble down, there is no need to be sad— Dorien is a headstrong woman that can overcome it all. Even when she faces problems and things get broken, lost, and changed along the way, her life is still worth living. Perhaps even more so than before. A unique comedy that portrays the drama of life in depth. The name of director Anke BLONDÉ is certainly worth remembering. [JANG Rhana]
