SYNOPSIS

Third year professional housekeeper Mi-so, who wishes for nothing more than a glass of whiskey a day, a puff of a cigarette, and a loving boyfriend, is in hot water. Her pay is the same, and yet the price of whiskey, cigarette, and her rent has gone up. A woman with priorities, she decides to give up on her apartment and crash at her college band members¡¯ place. Through this process, we witness the lives of these young individuals. To make sure that the aloof Mi-so does not come across as an un-relatable character, the film realistically portrays in detail the different supporting characters and their own life stories – each and every one of them have their own ambitions and struggles. They often belittle Mi-so for living a life different from them, or fear her for rejecting societal expectations; at the same time, they find her mysterious and feel envious. There¡¯s no reason to not find these conflicting emotions un-relatable, but the film does not thoughtlessly sympathize nor teach any one character, but rather silently supports each and every one. Mi-so is poor but like her name, is heartwarmingly hospitable and easygoing. She does not lose to life and protects what she loves. A story that starts with ¡®Where should I live?¡¯ and continues to ¡®How should I live?¡¯, it is a hearty and unique debut that asks a contemporary question about pride and self-esteem.
