Four temporary workers who were employed for a week act out their life in the factory. They reenact how they work and live their life in front of the camera and in doing so live and talk of their life. Showing us the reality and situation of these temporary workers by placing them at the crossroad of objective reality and virtual scenario, the film has a memorable last sequence. The individuals leave their trace by momentarily remaining, reorganizing the space, and choosing the arrangement of objects, but they are no longer within the frame. And we have no idea where they will go – they simply stayed for a short while for work. [KIM Sook-Hyun]

HSU Hui-ju was born in Taiwan. Her documentary films won her a number of awards, and have been selected to be screened in the section Regards Neufs of Visions du Reel festival in Switzerland. Using a quiet gaze to gain an insight on the absurdity of life on earth, she tries to re-examine the meaning of painful life experiences, whether it is through the context of family or some specific field. By using her cold and distant tone, she is able to eventually project another kind of tenderness.
