SYNOPSIS
Three sassy sisters have so much passion in running their family boutique hotel by the beach in the eastern part of Indonesia\'s archipelago.Gendis is the first child whose passion is cooking. She devotes all her energy to ensure an unforgettable gastronomical experience. The second child, Ellais a kind and impressionable woman who chooses to lead the public relation and marketing divisions of their hotel. Bebe is the youngest and the free spirited one. She is the closest to the locals of the town. Meanwhile, grandma who lives with her three granddaughters is on the brink of frustration. She is unable to find an ideal match for her granddaughters. She doesn\'t give up. Her ultimate goal in life is to find suitable men for them.

PROGRAM NOTE

This film is a loose remake of Tiga Dara (1956), a representative romantic comedy in the film history of Indonesia. Tiga Dara (1956) was also a remake of a musical comedy film with the same title produced in 1936, which was produced to catch up with the popularity of Bollywood style musical in Indonesian market. This film was a huge success, and remade 4 times (2 times in the 1980s, 1 time in the 2000s, and this film). The common settings in both films are the grandmother who is almost a matriarch, eldest daughter¡¯s indifference in marriage, bike accident, and dinner with the father¡¯s friends. Other settings are invested to create social status allowed for young women in this age, and an economic base which enables their social status. The place of their love story is replaced from the modern city spaces of Bandung and Jakarta to a boutique hotel located in Maumere, Flores island (southern area of Indonesia). The three sisters are endowed with professional expertise of chef, hotel management, and tourism development. The place where their professional expertise is deployed is a boutique hotel which is not so deeply involved with the local specific conditions of economy, culture, and history. Based on this lessened local specificity, the three sisters end up being romantically involved with their own partners. As a romantic comedy, this happy ending cliché is not so unique, but what is interesting is that they have certain initiatives in building up romantic relationships. (Hwang Miyojo))
