Synopsis

 A cinematic devotional book. Based on interviews with an unemployable sufferer (and his fellows), living in the East German countryside. Who lost his memory in 1989 and woke up into several nightmares.

 Twisting the phrase in the \'Book of Psalms\', \"Seven times a day I praise you,\" this cinematic devotional book is based on the interview with a man in Eastern Germany who lost his memory long time ago and suffers from nightmares every night. In this experimental film, the ravaged inner side of an individual is visualized through text banners and miniatures. Winning awards in prestigious film festivals such as Dresden, Hamburg, Oberhausen, and Clermont-Ferrand, this film talks about fear and disgust against the backdrop of cute and friendly setting. And the ending brings ultimate sadness with the outcry of people wrecked in the world: \"There\'s no ship to come save us.\" [LEE Jeeheng]

    Susann Maria HEMPEL was born in 1983 in Greiz, Germany. She studied Media Art & Design at Bauhaus University in Weimar. Her award winning films include: The Crying Third (2008), The Flies (The Birds II, 2010), The World in Stillness Clouded (2012), The Big Rot (2013).
