Gunhild ENGER
2013 Goteborg Film Festival / 2013 Uppsala International Short Film Festival
Synopsis
Ing-Marie and Carl are always busy. They surround themselves with devices meant to simplify their lives. It is summer, the sun is shining, the machines are running while she works out and he mows the lawn. But life isn¡¯t necessarily any easier.
Program Note
A middle-aged couple\'s holiday is subjugated to the advanced devices and their rhythm. Their house is full of the sounds that the machines make, and this couple is busy interacting with these machines. When the husband asks his wife to help, his voice can\'t reach her. A busy and noisy modern life relying on machines too much is contrasted by a quiet holiday with no human interaction. [CHAI Hee-sook]
