Cho PhyoneCho Phyone
Born in 1980 in Taunggyi in Shan State where she also graduated in 2003 in Public Policy, Cho Pyone, who is Shan-Chinese, also holds a diploma in Chinese Language from Yangon University for Language. A dressmaker and designer since 2003 with her own business in downtown Yangon, she has long been interested in art and photography. A passionate environmentalist, she sees documentary as a way of alerting audiences to issues that affect their lives. Since joining Yangon Film School in 2012 she has made two short films as director.
