Synopsis
The narrator visits the last place she went with her ex-boyfriend. Her inner loneliness that she currently bears makes her even more recollect old memories. In fact, she felt riddling psychological anxiety while she was dating him, therefore, now she seems to be sorry for the farewell she faced before opening her heart to him. What¡¯s the story she couldn¡¯t even tell the closest person?
Program Note
In order to talk about her disabled brother, the director, acting as a narrator, interviews her grandmother, neighbors, and people from work rather than speaking to her brother himself or to her parents, who take care of him. One of her questions is what they think about ¡®a woman with a disabled brother¡¯ as a marriage partner. Her father insists that her brother be self-reliant and gets him a job at a factory in order to set him on his feet. On his birthday, the director visits her brother, who lives alone, with a cake. The brother worries if his sister is swayed by the men around her, and as a birthday wish, he says that he hopes her employment goes well. The film is not talking about a disabled brother; rather, it talks about the director¡¯s own independence and growth as someone who has felt the burden of her brother¡¯s disability. [HWANG Miyojo]
