Sara doesn't belong to this world. She leaves the psychiatric hospital where she had concealed from herself, to walk the corridors of the past time, trying to find what it's not lost.
One of the tendencies usually seen in Latin American films is the repetitive theme of journey. Of This World can be taken in the context of the tradition of Latin American road movies. It visualizes a woman on a journey, escaping from oppression. After walking out of despair to look for freedom, Sarah wants to be with Carlos on her journey. Sarah wants to leave and look for hope, while Carlos wants to stay in the present. Although they walk down many crossroads in the clashes of the present and the future, there is no place for the two of them in this world. This poetic image regarding the realities of the present gently, yet deeply tugs at the heartstrings of the audience. (HONG So-in)
