SYNOPSIS

 Synopsis
Mei, leader of an all-girl biker gang, inadvertently gets involved with a yakuza group\'s plot to rig boxing matches because of her boyfriend and a rival gang. When the yakuza tortures and kills some of her members, she comes out of hiding and, with the help of a loner named Ako, seeks revenge.

 Program Note
The confrontation between wayward girls, which was reenacted as a battle of profanity in Sunny (2011, South Korea), is portrayed much more extensively in the ¡®Stray Cat Rock¡¯ series. The girls brandish knives without hesitation; even clubs, torches and shotguns emerge. It is because they also have to confront men. The men, who are in fact the cause behind the confrontations, demand that their lovers and friends make sacrifices for them. In other words, the confrontations between girls are substitutes of power struggles between ¡®their men¡¯. In such a setting where the confrontations of the girls are positioned within male dominated structure, a new character from outside this structure is called for in order to crack and breakdown this setting, in other words, a character capable enough for a direct confrontation with the men. That character is WADA Akiko, better known by her nickname Akko, who is indeed today¡¯s reigning woman boss of Japanese entertainment industry. The image of Akko taking off like a wind after shaking off the men¡¯s threats and pursuits all the while breaking down the social framework that they had created is, at a first glance, reminiscent of a Western movie. However, the image of her speeding through all corners of the city on her motorcycle offers a clearly different sort of enjoyment than that offered by a Western, which is considered a masculine genre. Furthermore, if one can imagine the real WADA Akiko of today, who has the composure and charisma to even overpower most male entertainers today, as Akko seen in the film, the enjoyment of the film could most definitely be amplified.
