Shay is conflicted about whether to have a child with her partner, Norah. She struggles with her desire to be genetically connected to her own child and with the knowledge that she may carry the marker for a serious genetic disorder.
Shay, a lesbian, and Norah, her partner, decide to have a child. However, Shay falls into a dilemma as her desire for a child who shares her DNA and her anxiety about possible genetic defect in her conflict. Even though this is yet a distant issue in Korea, the issue on bearing and rearing children has become one of the most important issues for lesbian couples in the west. However, not being able to have a ¡®biological child¡¯ who has both parents¡¯ DNA still remains as a dilemma for many homosexuals. The film points out the realistic aspects of this issue from a stance that neither completely acknowledges nor denies the desire for biological children. (Jay SOHN)
