This short film tries to shed light on a very inhuman and ugly tradition between Kurdish families in Kurdistan and particularly in Mahabad. The story of the film is about two young girls who are friends for many years, but their lives and happiness will be ruined when an old woman appears.
This is a story about two girls falling victim to the Kurdish tradition of female circumcision. The film does not give any hint as to what is happening to the girls in the beginning, but in the end, it tells us that what they wanted to avoid and what they feared was female circumcision. Such method outstandingly utilizes the short running time, which is a short film¡¯s merit as well as its shortfall, and effectively criticizes female circumcision. (HWANG Miyojo)
