Synopsis
 Hye-hwa is as an assistant to a veterinarian, and spends lots of her time saving abandoned animals. One day, while Hye-hwa is trying to save a dog, she sees Han-soo standing in front of her. They were a couple in love five years ago at the age of 18. Han-soo left for Canada abandoning Hye-hwa when he found out that she became pregnant. 5 years later, why is he coming back to her, and what does he have to say to her?

 Hye-hwa is a nurse at a small veterinary clinic who rescues and takes care of the town’s abandoned animals One day, Han-soo, who left Hye-hwa 5 years ago, returns and tries to recover what Hye-hwa had lost 5 years ago as well as their relationship. The film progresses as it traverses between Hye-hwa’s present, comprised of the veterinary clinic and her town in the outskirts of Seoul, and Hye-hwa’s past.
 Hye-hwa’s everyday life is filled with taking care of others. At home, she raises the abandoned dogs that she had rescued, and at work, she takes care of not only the sick animals, but also the child of the veterinarian, a single father. Is this how she compensates for the sense of loss from a child born to Hye-hwa and Han-soo 5 years ago, whom Hye-hwa believes is dead and whom Han-soo believes is given up for adoption? Through the contrast with Han-soo, who suffers from the same trauma, the film shows that Hye-hwa’s everyday life of taking care of others is not influenced by the past. Watching Hye-hwa return back to Han-soo in the end leaves the audience with lingering thoughts and questions. Hye-hwa knows that she cannot go back to the past with Han-soo, but as she did with the abandoned animals, she holds her hand out to him. The portrayal of Hye-hwa as a cool but optimistic and tough woman and of Han-soo as a man who unintentionally drives everyone around him embarassed stands out. (HWANG Miyojo)
