 Synopsis
 Daping hates Haili. Haili strode out of nowhere into her apartment, her life, and her promising relationship with Chen Jin. Though Daping tries to be a kind and honest person, Haili bullies her mercilessly. Then one day, Chen Jin disappears, leaving Daping pregnant again and not knowing how to survive. Haili has also experienced many hardships and difficulties in her life, and might be just the person to help Daping in troubled times. Although her mocking attitude doesn’t change, there’s still a chance for a bond to form between these two women’s hearts.

Program Note
 Knitting is the story of two young women and a young man trying hard to settle down in Beijing. It starts from Daping, the heroine, staring at the streets of Beijing from the bus window. Daping is a frumpy and brusque-looking girl and helps out her live-in boyfriend who holds numerous jobs. Chen Jin lives from hand to mouth but she never forgets to check the winning lottery numbers. She is waiting for the jackpot of a lifetime. Knitting is Daping’s only joy of life. However, Chen Jin’s female acquaintance, Haili Lee, barges into her life. She can’t stand her at all but Chen Jin is planning to open a business with her.
 The renowned Rookie Yin Lichuan portrays the poor and young in Beijing who are not necessarily ambitious but struggle to love, consume and survive without being visually hokey and rhetorically embellished. As we follow the small pieces of their lives and distress through the sometimes-stillsometimes-shaking camera moves, Knitting, which starts out with the story of 3 women, turns into the story of 2 brusque women and the bond between them.
