Iriz PÄÄBO
Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2008
Synopsis
The director¡¯s intention lies on visualizing the power, speed and energy produced by human bodies in a limited space, and to a larger extent the air and sound that fill it. From time to time the film invites the audience into the screen to run with the players, just like the 3 dimension role-playing computer game.
Program Note
This film takes ice hockey, one of the most popular sports in Canada, as the main theme. But this is not something we need to put too much focus on. The director¡¯s intention lies in visualizing the power, speed and energy produced by human bodies in a limited space, and to a larger extent the air and sound that fill in it. From time to time the film invites the audience into the screen to run with the players (of course it¡¯s imaginary), just like the 3 dimension role-playing computer game. One tip to breathe together the powerful bodies: the women¡¯s ice hockey league in Canada started in 2007. (Joon Yang KIM)
