SYNOPSIS

Busan Women\'s Film Festival 2009

 Synopsis
My mother is worried that I¡¯m still unmarried at the age of 30. She says, in a trip with me, that she is not happy at all about me living with another girl, without any intention of finding a boyfriend. I decide to confess my sexual identity to her that night.

Program Note
A woman director in her 30¡¯s goes on a trip with her mother. She is confident about her work and sexual identity. Her mother always supports her, yet is worried too since she is still unmarried and living with a woman. Having faith in herself and her mother, she decides to tell her sexual identity to her mother. The director delicately captures the private moment of her and her mother right after the coming-out as they gaze at each other with eyes full of concern. It is somewhat lonesome to see the director in her camera follow her mother along the beach from a distance. But it is also relieving to see them build a maturer mother and daughter relationship by acknowledging each other as independent personalities. (CHO Hye-young)
