Synopsis
 After yet another mission abroad, the young soldier Lotte returns home, completely disillusioned with life. Lotte\'s unreliable father offers her a job as a chauffeur for his Nigerian girlfriend, the escort girl Lily. Both Lotte and Lily carry invisible scars and are reluctant at first, but a friendship slowly emerges between the two women, and things take an unexpected turn.
 
 Program Note
 Lotte is back home from the war in Iraq, but she cannot adapt herself to the realities, depending on alcohols. Lotte’s father, who works in the sex industry, hires her as his driver. One day, when Lily, his girlfriend and one of his prostitutes, needs a driver, Lotte has to drive for her, too. First, the two women do not get along with each other, but they get to share a certain feelings. Annette K. Olessen, the director, succeeded in drawing a lot of attention with her previous film, In Your Hands. This time, in Little Soldier, she talks about salvation. Lotte had to kill someone in order to save someone in the battle field, but now she is the one who needs to be saved. Lotte’s unsatisfied desire to salvation or guilty feeling is transferred to her will to save Lily and her daughter by sending Lily back to her daughter in Nigeria. Lotte once participated in the international politics/wars as an agent. However, as she meets Lily, one of the captives of human trafficking in the globalized sex industry, she becomes skeptical about the global power games and the unfairness of poverty. It is an ethical act of her choice that she steals her father’s ‘dirty money’ and use it to send Lily back to Nigeria. But, did Lily go back to Nigeria? Was it even possible? Or, is it possible that she decided to run her own sex business to make more money out of that money? (KWON Eun-sun)
