Synopsis
 Rain is a young Bahamian girl who, after her grandmother\'s death chooses to take an epic voyage by mail boat, leaving behind her very simple and sheltered life on the rural Ragged Island for the big city of Nassau. She hopes to reconcile with her mother who abandoned her when she was just a toddler; however, her hopes and illusions are shattered one after another as her mother\'s deviant and destructive lifestyle becomes evident to her.

 Rain, she lives with her grandmother, Rosalie, on a wild island in the Bahamas. When her grandmother dies, Rain goes to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas; there she lives with her mother, Glory. However Glory, whom Rain has never met before, is a drug addict. Glory cannot even take care of herself, let alone her daughter. She barely makes ends meet by working as a prostitute in the slums. Not used to her mom, the city, and the school, Rain runs and runs and keeps running, just like she did on the island. She is getting used to her new life when she meets a friend who is full of defiance; she also meets a track coach named Adams, who recognizes her talent for running. The Bahamas are located in the north of the West Indies, east of the North American Continent. They became a famous tourist attraction after the World War II. Are there any painful realities and lives at such a picture-perfect tourist destination we are so eager to visit? Of course the answer is “Yes.” There exist dreadful lives and daughters living their mothers’ miserable lives and mothers trying to be part of their daughters’ lives. The film shows the beautiful color of coral, and the Bahamian Ocean full of emerald blue; it shows back street alleys of the city that are touched by water color brushes. We are allowed to look into the souls of the characters clearly and transparently. It is a first full-length film produced in Bahamas, and the director Maria Govan’s debut work. The film received the Audience Award at the 2008 Bahamas International Film Festival. (SIM Hye-kyong)
