SYNOPSIS
Program Note
24-year-old Michelle had breast cancer and had a mastectomy. Little by little, she adapts to her daily life as her hair returns after radiation therapy. However, it is not as simple as we think to be reconciled with her body, which is different from what it used to be. Be Beautiful is the director’s self-video-diary which shows how a 24-year-old woman courageously faces the wound left in her body and mind after the surgery. This film won the audience award in ‘Me, Myself, and I’ section at the 15th Women Make Waves Film Festival in Taiwan. (Jay SOHN)

CHEN was born in Changhua County, Taiwan. She graduated from the Drama School at the National University of Arts(NTUA) and is attending the Gradute School of Applied Media Arts at NTUA. Her filmography includes two fiction shorts, Heartthrob (2006) and Fellow (2008.)
