Program Note
Ill-omened as the title suggests, this film explicitly describes the violence that surrounds our daily lives, binding us together unconsciously. It features a man who is not afraid of being abusive and threatening with obscenities and violence, and a girl who squares off against him with another kind of violence: ¡®revenge.¡¯ They play a dangerous game of alternating the strong and the weak, or the perpetrator and the victim. This backand- forth game gives the audience the feeling that they are also exposed to the vicious circle of violence. From beginning to the end, the audience will not be able to pull itself away for a minute from the tense and chill atmosphere. They will be gripped by the illusion that they are the victims of the violence for real. (MO Eun-young)
