Betty and Stan’s marriage is at a dead end. They eat together and sleep in the same bed, but dead air separates them like a wall. One day, an unexpected breakthrough results when Betty discovers she has moustache and Stan is absorbed by embroidery. Subverting gender roles by depicting a ‘woman’s moustache’ and a ‘man’s embroidery’, director Vicki Sugars reveals in hilarious ways how fragile the compulsory binary structures of gender and sexuality really are.
