SYNOPSIS
To the European community, the endless flow of refugees coming from outside their borders has become a major issue. It is also the legacy of Europe’s colonization of Africa, an imperialism that persisted until just recently. Yet European nations continue to display contradictory dualism by affirming their commitment to human rights on one hand, yet refusing to accept all refugee applications and conducting evaluations (but for whom and by what criteria?) when deciding to issue permission or not. The black children blithely playing the refugee game in the backyard of a house in Norway remain burdened with such a predicament to this day. (Kim Joon-yang)

Kaja Wright PolmarKaja Wright Polmar
Born in 1978, Oslo, Norway, Kaja Wright Polmar studied at Vloda Animation College. Her graduation film from Volda College, The Mother Who Didn’t Cry was screened in Annecy. She has been working as an animator on Pjotr Sapegin’s films Aria, Through My Thick Glasses and My Grandfather is a Raisin. Kaja Wright Polmar is also teaching animation to school children in Norway. She is currently working in the animation studio Kinopravda in Oslo, as animator and animation director, co-operating with Pjotr Sapegin. Her other films are En Liten Forteller (2000), Out! (2004) and AsylsØkere (2005).
