SYNOPSIS
If the combination of the victims¡¯ interviews and the careful approach to the horrific issue of female circumcision in Africa in this animated film reminds you of the word, ¡®brutal,¡¯ then this term should also be applied to Korea which is built on the oppression and exploitation of women. The argument that modernity has abolished brutality is only a standardization and generalization. While African societies force circumcision upon their daughters for the sake of the economic benefit of the family, Korea, for the sake of national gain, is poking its syringe needles into massive numbers of ova in high tech laboratories built from millions of dollars of taxpayers¡¯ money. Which is more horrific? (Kim Joon-yang)
