A girl argues that she is ‘gay.’ She also states that she has a ‘female lover.’ Her mother decides to disregard her words as to her, she is only a woman posing as a man. Eight years have passed as the mother’s wishes to keep her ‘daughter’ and the girl’s cries for her to recognize her have continued. As the title suggests, the filmmaker’s intentions for the audience to ‘listen,’ are translated into comic-strip-like word balloons for the characters’ dialogue, transforming their voices into the audience’s inner voices.
