SYNOPSIS
Based on Inuit mythology, this film relates the tale of a woman thrown into the waters by her father who becomes a skeleton ghost. One day, a fisherman unaware of the skeleton ghost legend fishes her up and revives her with his warm heart. They eventually become a couple. Although there are many women who experience violence and abandonment by their family, it seems almost impossible for a woman and a man to spend their lives together in unconditional love, with only burning passion for each other. This is not the North Pole.

Edith Pieperhoff was born in Duisburg, Germany where she lived the first half of her life. In 1984 she moved to Ireland. She studied Film/Animation at Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design and now lives in West Ireland working as an Independent Animator. She has directed and produced many short animations including An Bonnan Bui (1995), Orpheus (1998), How It All Began (2001) and A Faery Wind (2005).
