SYNOPSIS
Are you a feminist? Many women answer no. They think feminism dictates a certain frame that will decide who they are, a perception that has often led to misunderstandings. Although women today acknowledge the importance of feminism and its positive effect on their lives, they are not very willing to share the responsibility of being feminist. Isn¡¯t this a little selfish? Is it okay to enjoy the fruits of the feminist movement without engaging in it at all? Mired in a boring, unsatisfying life, Fearless confronts these questions during an internet chat conversation and comes out onto the street to find the answer.
Through the lens of Fearless¡¯ camera, we meet a diverse range of women including a cab driver to a publicist. This lively documentary explores a variety of ideas and perspectives on feminism, experimenting with different styles. Juxtaposing written language and narration, record and reconstruction, pictures and emoticons, Unlimited Girls takes a cheerful, rhythmic approach to feminism. (Jay Sohn)
