SYNOPSIS

It is an adult¡¯s defense mechanism to believe in the beauty of adolescence and only the wistful search for childhood memories supposedly different from the harshness of adult life. Moreover, childhood nostalgia may become a tool of to control children based on their range of experiences. The world is crueler to the ones without power. Don¡¯t believe the myth that a child¡¯s life is much easier than a grown-up¡¯s. Excellent Work! captures the moments from the past that ooze out from memories, moments which come to control the present. (Jay Sohn)

Director

  • Jeong Da-miJeong Da-mi

    Born in Daegu, Jeong Da-mi majored in Psychology at Kyungpook National University and studied film at Korean Academy of Film Arts. She directed her first short I¡¯d Rather Dance with You Than Talk with You in 2000 and since then has made 4 other films including Pull the Sunken Moon (2003) and Looking for an Illusion (2004). Excellent Work! is her first 35mm film.
