The little mermaid playfully swims and frolics with the adorable sea horses, the red crab that enjoys pulling at her cheeks, the ink-squirting cuttlefish and the fishes. In the water, she moves with ease using her flippers…but when she opens her eyes again, she is a small girl in a wheelchair, smiling down at a seahorse, a crab and a cuttlefish toy in the bathtub. This is a lovely animated film that introduces a rather depressing situation as a charming, delightful tale. (Billy Choi)
