SYNOPSIS

Born in Saint Joseph de Sorel, Quebec in 1943, Michèle Cournoyer studied graphic arts, photography and animation in England and Italy. She then worked as a set designer, art director, costume designer and screenwriter on a number of groundbreaking Quebec films of the 1970s. She has also made several independent films of her own: Toccata (1978), Old Orchard Beach, P.Q. (1981) Dolorosa (1988) as well as very innovative and original animated shorts including A Feather Tale (1992), An Artist (1994) and The Hat (1999).
